24 hours is a long time in politics and so it proved this week, a week which saw the burial of one Baroness Margret Hilda Thatcher, the iconoclastic ‘Iron Lady’ who was not only Britain’s first ever women Prime Minister but a figure who went on to become one of the most recognised and idolised political figures of the 20th Century. The saying much used this week is ‘love her or loathe her’, which ever side your allegiances lie; there is no doubting she will live long in the memory and in the history of our political landscape.

Here at Danilo our thoughts turn to Boston and to those who lost their lives or limbs due to the cowardly act of those who wreaked havoc on the Boston Marathon. We wish strength to all those who now face a very different future.

London is gearing up for its own marathon, an annual event which is anticipated by everyone, runners and non-runners alike. Let’s hope it’s a jubilant event and that we finish by celebrating the human spirits triumphant over adversity, in all its forms.

Talking of British sporting greats, today Sir Chris Hoy, he of SIX yes SIX Olympic gold’s, 11 world titles and countless other accolades, decided the wheels must come off the track. We wish him well in what ever he decides to do; he provided us with some of the most exhilarating and magnificent sporting moments in recent times and is truly an Olympic great.

Star Wars fans will be over the moon (or Galaxy even) to hear Disney’s latest announcement, they’ve revealed that they intend to make a Star War’s film yearly from 2015. Star Wars is such a worldwide phenomena, that this will be music to millions of fans ears. Here at Danilo, we love Star Wars, in all its guises. For the Star Wars fan in you life, why not visit personalise.com and put the full force of the Empire into their birthday celebrations.

Finally, we now know the finalists for the F.A Cup Final, what a finale it will be.

Enough of this nonsense; May the best Man, City or Wigan win.

I know us Brits like talking about the weather but this artic blast is testing even our patience, how cold can it continue to be. The answer seems to be - VERY. If anybody else tells us how hot it was this time last year, we’ll scream. Still just as well Easter is on the horizon, at least there’s plenty of Hot Cross Buns & Chocolate to eat and believe me, here at Personalise we are doing our best to keep up the calorie intake.

Still if it seems bad here, give a thought for the Cypriots, they might have better weather but I’m sure there’s a feeling of being left out in the cold; Good job they don’t celebrate April’s Fools day, they might believe someone started early.

I’d like to say that at least the football is warming the cockles of our hearts but between domestic teams crashing (albeit controversially) out of the Champions League and the national teams not covering themselves in glory, no good looking for comfort there. Ditto for Cricket, relieved at a draw in New Zealand, is hardly building up expectations for the Ashes but at least we have Wales’ glorious win at the millennium stadium to admire. It really was a belter of a game and congrats to Gethin Jenkins and the team, they retained their Six Nations’ title in exemplary fashion.

Talking of winning combinations, there’s another group of hot blooded males who seem to be demolishing all in their path. The ‘One Direction’ boys are enjoying un-paralleled success; at least their tour has females across the land feeling some heat. Don’t forget, you can Personalise a card for the feverent fan in your life, they’ll love you for ever.

Lastly, Dr Who is back on our screens this weekend. And the good Dr. has a new assistant. The beautiful Jenna Louise Coleman plays Clara, hopefully a love interest for the man himself, let’s face it, it must get lonely out there with the whole Universe (and beyond) at your disposal. We wish them well; Keep fighting the good fight and we’ll keep eating the eggs. HAPPY EASTER ONE AND ALL.
